Friday night the Jaguars of East Gadsden High School traveled north to take on the Bainbridge Bearcats. The Jaguars would wind up on the short end of a 3-0 ball game.
This game showcased two high-powered defenses that kept coming up with big plays when their respective teams needed them. The game went nearly three quarters without any points on the scoreboard. With 30 seconds on the third quarter clock the Bearcats came up with a 27-yard field goal which proved to be enough for the victory.
The Jaguars made the Bainbridge defense earn the victory for the hometown crowd in the fourth quarter. After being set up on the Bainbridge 30-yard line via a punt return, the Jaguars drove inside the five-yard line but were unable to punch the ball across the goal line on four consecutive plays.
The fact that the Jaguars held a team with 27 seniors on their roster to three points is a testament to the determination and dedication that this young Jaguar team showed Friday night in Bainbridge.
